Many people ask me how I have so much energy all the time, and often I don’t, but I do have healthy formed habits I have learned along my self-development journey. Creating healthy habits and a healthy lifestyle allowed me to become mentally stronger and encouraged me every day to keep on moving forward.
Here are 5 healthy habits to start implementing in your life starting today:
- BEING ACTIVE
- LEARNING HOW TO BE CONSISTENT
- LEARNING HOW TO BE DISCIPLINED
- TAKING CARE OF YOURSELF
- TAKING FUN BREAKS
Being active doesn’t always mean exercising and spending hours at the gym. It can mean going on a fun hike with your friends, swimming in a lake, going to a fun workout class like pilates, etc. Being active doesn’t have to be seen as something to dread and not look forward to; being active can be fun! Make sure to surround yourself with others who want to improve themselves that way; you can all motivate each other.
Learning to be consistent means you have done the work to complete specific tasks every day. It means you have developed a routine that works for YOU. This can look like waking up every day at 7 am to go to the gym or having a particular morning or night routine. This makes your brain feel happy; your brain likes consistency because it knows what to expect. It also builds your self-esteem because you will feel satisfied having accomplished certain things throughout your day.
Learning discipline helps you fight past procrastination and overcome laziness. So often, we might find ourselves falling victim to being lazy. Discipline overpowers your feelings of laziness and lack of motivation and pushes you to get out of bed. Discipline is what gets you results in whatever you want to accomplish.
Taking care of yourself is so important to do when you’re trying to keep your energy levels up! You can do this by taking a relaxing shower or bath, going to your favorite restaurant, eating your favorite ice cream, going to the gym, etc. You have to prioritize your self-care; otherwise, you will feel burnt out. Being burnt out will pause your goals; it’s essential to pay attention to your battery levels and recharge when needed.
Taking fun breaks is vital to your energy levels and staying consistent. This can look like you are taking a day off of your usual routine and spending time with your friends, family, or loved ones. You are allowed to take breaks and not feel guilty for them. However, if you don’t let yourself take breaks, you will reach burnout.
All these go hand in hand with keeping your energy levels up because they all connect, they all help push you to keep going, and they are all a way of living a healthy lifestyle so you can accomplish anything while feeling composed.
